# Luminate

Luminate is a modern Jellyfin client for the Linux desktop, built with Swift and Adwaita.

It aims to provide a delightful browsing experience for any Jellyfin server with features rivaling the default Jellyfin Media Player, all while feeling right at home in your GNOME desktop.

## State

Luminate is in development and not yet usable. Feel free to follow the progress of the project and [open issues](https://git.bscubed.dev/echo/luminate/issues) or contribute if you'd like.

## Roadmap

- **Server connection**: manual entry, UDP broadcast LAN discovery, saved server list
- **Auth**: username+password, Quick Connect, Easy PIN, remembered sessions, multiple profiles
- **Home**: recommended carousel, Continue Watching, Next Up, Latest Media, library list
- **Browse**: grid/list, sorting, filtering, search, person/studio/genre/tag pages, collections
- **Detail**: movie and episode detail, season lists, ratings, media info, cast
- **Playback (mpv)**: Direct Play / transcode, resume, chapters, trickplay previews, subtitle
  and audio track selection, speed control, skip intro/credits, fullscreen, SyncPlay
- **Media management**: watched state, favorites, ratings, playlists, subtitle download, offline

- **Profile and settings**: display language, subtitle defaults, bitrate, theme, keyboard
